Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Episode 1

Well that was about as normal as i’d expect a school based anime to be. It didn’t do anything new it just stuck to standards and well I guess if it wants to be average then great. Every time I watch a school anime there is always a club that does absolutely nothing and its getting more far fetched ever single time a new anime comes out. At this point I think its rather funny in a sad uncreative kind of way. I think this trend all started for me when I watched Clannad. Only one person in the Drama club was actually interested in drama. The club room seems more like an excluded place for the main characters to meet up without the interuption of regular students. There is many other example of ridiclous clubs. For example.

Haruhi Suzumiya : SOS Brigade

Ouran High School Host Club : Host Club

Kamisama no Memo-chou : Gardening Club

Sket Dance : Helper’s Club

Yuru Yuri : Amusement Club

Thats just a few examples of dodgy clubs. And now Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai adds the friends club to the mix. The main character Yozora definatly needs this club because she only has one friend and she is imaginary. That scene where she was talking to herself was actually funny but i found myself becoming a bit annoyed at the scene after it when she talks about having no friends. Then Kodaka starts saying he has no friends becuase he has been misjudged by the stupid anime logic of “He has blonde hair so he must be a diliquent” Its kind of reminds me of poor Ryūji in Toradora except his situation was becuase of his evil looking eyes and not hair colour. But on second thought Ryūji hair was blue but no one seemed to care about that. That’s anime logic for you. During the whole conversation i was thinking. Just be friends with each other and both your problems will be solved but no they just kept talking. That aside Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai has some decent characters and could turn out okay. Its not going to be an instant classic and will probably be forgotten with two years but for the time being it is entertaining enough if only to stop the bordom for another 22 minutes.

Also why does Kodaka have a chibi maid on his couch?
