Three things to like about – Silver Spoon

Silver Spoon 1

It took a while, maybe 4 or 5 episodes but it’s growing on me and it’s gotten to the point where I am really enjoy it so I’m really glad I’ve stuck with it and anyone else who did the same is probably thinking the same thing. Read More…

Three things to like about – Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi

Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi Isabelle

I’ve never been one for long cohesive thoughts forming detailed engaging  paragraphs so here it is. The first in a new set of posts that are short sweet and to the point but also aid in my interactions with you guys and girls hopefully. Three things I like about this anime and I’ve got to be quick and to the point but also make sure not to squander my topics of interested on lame concepts. Read More…

Ultimate Marathon – Completion

Genshiken Nidaime1

That was super fun but it did take a long time and I was sick almost all week so it was unpleasant at times but honestly I could say this is one of the best marathons I’ve ever done as everything I picked to watch was at least somewhat good and on top of that I was very surprised by Kamisama No Inai Nichiyoubi which was brilliant, not perfect by any means but it has me very interested to say the least. So going back over last weeks post I’m curious to see my though before I watched everything since it turns out my judgement was off on a few things. Read More…

Ultimate Marathon – The build up

Gatchaman Crowds

As I’m going away on a business trip to a rural area for an entire week with minimal access to the internet or other people I have planned for myself the ultimate marathon, a marathon spanning 5 days, 30+ hours and 25 Gigabytes of anime. 39 episode of pure anime goodness or at least I am hoping so because if they suck I’m going to be bored out of my brain for the entire time. The last trip I took like this I had a 50+ episode Fairy Tail marathon which left me a little bit insane but this time I’ve planned ahead and have a variety of anime to keep me occupied. Read More…

Upcoming anime – Arpeggio of Blue Steel

I’ll admit I haven’t done my research (Read the entire manga in a day) on this one like I did with Water Moat last season but that doesn’t mean I didn’t learn some details. Basically it’s about the post apocalypse but instead of zombies or viruses or robots it’s about ships, ships that now control the entire ocean. As you’ve already guess a ragtag team of teenagers, some of which I’m guessing are reluctant discover a way to fight back. Read More…

Real world history vs fictional lore

Mushi Shi 1

This is a topic I’ve been thinking about for a while and I only just considered it could be post material. There is so much I can go into about this subject and it’s not even limited to anime and manga it applies to all media. So obvious most of us don’t aren’t very interested in real world history, there is some great moments but throughout your childhood it’s forced on you in schools and looses it’s appeal in a lot of way. Fictional history or should I say lore about a fictional world is honestly something I crave especially when dealing with anime I love and it’s something I seek out unlike real history. Read More…

Watamote – What animation brings to the table

Watamote 2

I wrote a post a few week back wondering if animation is even necessary and now that I’ve watched some of the Watamote anime (My example for this discussion) I’ve decided that yes animation can bring something to the table but even then I’ll still defend that the animation quality doesn’t matter so long as it surpasses a low bar that only terrible looking anime can’t reach. Love Lab – Kiss already

I was sitting there the whole time expecting them to kiss, clearly Riko has a slight crush on Maki and the pair of them blushed on several occasions so you can’t really blame me for half expecting it to happen. But it didn’t and I’ll admit I’m a little sad but what this anime has going for it is comedy and not that shouty kind that was all so present Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku. It’s very off putting and very annoying if you pay attention to it. Love Lab on the other hand was visually funny as well as witty with it’s dialog and the character dynamic between the main pair is nice. Read More…

Becoming the protagonist

Persona 4 1

I know I’ve talked about this before on some occasion and honestly it’s because I hate the idea and it’s mostly because I’m expected to become some useless brown haired kid who’s only ability i whining. Read More…

Does anime even need animation?

Shingeki no Kyojin 1

He’s gone off the deep end this time by even questioning this. Of course anime needs animation you foolish blogger you are thinking to yourself as you roll your eyes and lean on your right elbow. Anime without animation is manga you stupid head and if it’s not that it probably a visual novel so clearly the defining feature of anime is animation… But how much of anime is really animated?
